Does Wordglow need an internet connection?

No. Every word, definition, and example sentence ships inside the app, and all progress is stored on your device. Wordglow works in airplane mode and makes no network requests at all.

Do you collect any data about my child?

No — none. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. See the privacy policy for details.

How do I get into parent mode?

Tap Parent mode at the bottom of the profile picker. The first time, you'll create a PIN; after that the PIN is required each time. Parent mode locks itself again whenever you leave it or the app goes to the background.

I forgot my parent PIN.

For your family's privacy the PIN is stored only as a scrambled (hashed) value in the device keychain, so it can't be recovered or reset from outside the app. Deleting and reinstalling the app clears the PIN, but also erases all progress — export a backup first from Parent mode › Settings › Your data if you can still get in.

How many new words does my kid get per day?

Five by default. You can change it per child in Parent mode › Settings › New words per day. Raise it gradually — more new words today means more reviews to do a few weeks from now. On a motivated day a kid can request one extra batch of the same size.

Why did a word come back so soon / so late?

Wordglow schedules each word with FSRS, a spaced-repetition algorithm that shows a word right before it would be forgotten. Words you find hard come back sooner; words you find easy stretch out further each time.

Can I move my child's progress to a new device?

Not directly yet. Because nothing is uploaded anywhere, progress lives only on the device it was made on. You can export a full backup file from Parent mode › Settings › Your data to keep a copy for safekeeping.

How do reward deals work?

Your child proposes an effort-based deal from the Awards tab — for example “practice 7 days in a row → movie night.” You approve, adjust, or decline it in parent mode, and the app tracks the progress honestly. Deals are always based on effort, never on test scores.
